Learning Resources Center Clinical Skills and Simulation LabThe Learning Resources Center (LRC) comprises the electronic media center for the School of
Health Professions (SHP), the School of Nursing (SON), and the Clinical Simulation and Skills Labs. The facility currently sets the pace for other campus facilities in the use of learning technologies. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency of use of resources that support the curricula of the schools by distributing and sharing these resources to the fullest extent possible. Curricular support activities of the LRC include user education and training and operational support for distance learning, video viewing from streaming media server, and interactive video conference facilities. Housed in the 9,343 square foot clinical simulation and skills lab are 2 high fidelity simulator rooms, 1 maternal child simulation room, 2 large bed labs (total of 14 beds), 1 small bed lab (total of 6 beds), 4 physical examination rooms with DVD recording capabilities, and 1 multi purpose task trainer room/classroom. In these rooms, students are able to practice basic skills in a simulated ICU or other scenario-driven environments.
