Scholarships
There are many scholarships available through the National Student Nurses’ Association and the Alabama Association of Nursing Students. Please click on the “Scholarships” tab to the left for more information about how to apply.
Nurses Helping Nurses
UAB SNA is sponsoring a program to send needed items to nurses currently serving in Iraq. One of the nurses is a UAB SON graduate and she sent us a wish list of items needed for the hospital, patients and the nurses in her unit. We will be collecting items and sending them overseas throughout the summer.

In addition to donated items, we would like to ask you for any letters or cards you might want to pass on to the nurses in Iraq. Everyone needs words of encouragement… Especially if you are thousands of miles from home in a foreign country serving in our military!
Collection boxes are located in the Nursing Building on the 1st floor in front of the elevators and on the ground floor in front of the student lounge to the right of the elevators. If you would like to make a monetary donation for these items and/or shipping, please make checks payable to UAB SNA and print Nurses Helping Nurses on the memo line. Thank you for your help with this project. Let’s show these nurses in Iraq how much we appreciate their service!
