Janeway credits his band’s meteoric rise to a hunger among young audiences for authenticity and a throwback to music from another era. “People are searching for realness,” he says, “and a band that wants to connect with people instead of keeping a distance.
“And I’m not being someone I’m not,” adds the UAB student. “There’s a certain honesty to that.”
