The UAB
Leukocyte/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule (LECAM) Mutant Mouse Resource is a
core facility, previously funded by the
Facility
Description
The mice are
maintained in the KAUL Animal Facilities.
Health surveillance is done several times each year to ensure that these
mice remain pathogen-free.
Research
Information
Mice containing
mutations in genes such as P-selectin, E-selectin, PSGL-1, ICAM-1, CD18, CD11a,
CD11b, CD11c, and CD11d on several different strain backgrounds are
available. All of these mutations are
backcrossed at least 8 generations onto C57BL/6 and many are also available on
several other strain backgrounds (DBA/1, PL/J, MRL/MpJ, and BALB/c).
Fees. Minimal charges apply for mouse development
and procurement. Consultation regarding
technical information and information regarding the appropriate probes to
identify any of the noted mutations is provided upon request.
