3.2.2 Freshman Forum

March 9th, 2015 - T. Alinea Esensoy

Meet Alinea Esensoy, USGA’s Publicity Coordinator who headed the USGA rebranding during the 2014-2015 school year.

DSC 0317Alinea Esensoy, a sophomore biomedical engineering student, currently serves as the Publicity Coordinator for USGA. As Publicity Coordinator, Esensoy has been instrumental in USGA’s rebranding effort to make USGA more visible on campus.

“We really wanted USGA to become something that students could recognize everywhere. Our graphic design chair and I went over about twenty logos before we finally decided on our current logo,” Esensoy said. “Seeing everything change to look more professional and really just more accessible to students is very rewarding and is the first step towards increasing student knowledge about events that are made to better their experience.”

In addition to her work with USGA, Esensoy serves the UAB campus through public relations work for Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, the Honors College Scholars Leadership Council, and as the Executive Vice President of Public Relations for the Panhellenic community.

“Student life is a huge part of my life and it has always been important to me to be involved at my school. I’ve grown so much as a person through being involved at UAB,” Esensoy said.

This past year, she has also been involved in a student-led research project to develop cost effective orthotics and prosthetics. Upon graduation, Esensoy hopes to attend medical school and specialize in immunology.
