Beginning with the fall 2011 semester, the UAB Campus Dining program will offer students the flexibility they asked for in Undergraduate Student Government Association open forums with university administration during the current school year. The first student-driven change to the plan is that 50 percent of a student’s unused meal plan meals from the fall semester will carry forward automatically to the spring 2012 semester. The second change is that 25 percent of Dining Dollars remaining on student CampusCard accounts will be converted automatically to BlazerBucks at the end of the 2011-12 academic year (at the end of the summer term). This will give students opportunities to use these funds at any venue that accepts BlazerBucks.
In addition, a seventh meal plan option – designed primarily with upperclassmen and commuter students in mind – is now available.
These changes to the Campus Dining program are part of ongoing efforts to provide the UAB community with student-centered opportunities and experiences.
