FTA/University of Alabama UTC/Transit Workshop was held on Monday May 14th 2007 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. The meeting sought to improve collaboration and cooperation among the Federal Transit Administration, transit providers, and UTC researchers on such things as the direction, problems, and needs of the transit community on specific topics such as disaster response and mobility management. Dr. Russ Fine, Director of UAB UTC, and Andrea Underhill, Associate director of UAB UTC, participated in the meeting.

Andrea Underhill, Associate Director for Administration and Finance, UAB UTC, Dr. Jay Lindly of the University Transportation Center for Alabama, and Deborah Chandler, Easter Seals of West Alabama.

CUTC Winter Business Meeting Sheduled

The 2007 CUTC Winter Business Meeting was held on Sunday January 21, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Washington B3 Room of the Marriott Wardham Park Hotel, Washington D.C. (This is on the Exhibit Hall level).

Awards Banquet and Reception

The 2007 CUTC Awards Banquet was held on Saturday, January 20, 2007, from 6:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Palladium Ballroom of the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington D.C.The Awards Banquet was preceded by a Reception at 5:30 p.m. in the Diplomat Ballroom of the Omni Shoreham Hotel.

Executive Committee Meeting

The CUTC Executive Committee Meeting met Saturday, January 20, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Governor's Boardroom of the Omni Shoreham Hotel, Washington D.C. Attendance was limited to members of the Executive Committee.  

Associate Directors Named!!!

Dr. Russ Fine, director of the UAB University Transportation Center has named two associate directors for the UAB UTC

Dr. Jay Goldman will take on the position of Associate Director for Research and Scientific Oversight in addition to his current duties within the ICRC and SCIB. Dr. Goldman will be coordinating and managing the research project selection process, as well as the ongoing monitoring of project quality and progress throughout the grant cycle. Andrea Underhill will assume the position of Associate Director for Administration and Finance. She will be responsible for managing and coordinating all day-to-day operations and support activities of the UTC, ranging from financial management to assistance with the selection and monitoring of research project quality and projects.
