UAB UTC Partners with Mountain-Plains Consortium for Expanded Educational Opportunities

 

The UAB UTC and the Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC), under the direction of Dr. Denver Tolliver and headquartered at North Dakota State University (NDSU), are linking to expand the educational opportunities offered by both Centers. The two UTCs are finalizing plans that will enable practicing transportation professionals and, in some cases, transportation students in the Alabama area to participate in two distance learning transportation certification programs provided through this cutting edge NDSU program. Soon, Alabama area transportation professionals will be able to pursue and earn a Certificate in Transportation and Urban Systems. This Certificate can be pursued via online courses and is targeted at practicing professionals who are unable to participate in traditional coursework. A second option that will be available is the Transportation Leadership Graduate Certificate which is a nationwide program sponsored by the Regional University Transportation Centers. This Certificate is a distance learning opportunity introducing participants to the skills needed to be a leader in the transportation field.

The UAB UTC leadership is grateful for the opportunity to establish this important linkage with the MPC and looks forward to being able to offer these valuable learning experiences and certification opportunities to its core, Alabama audience with the guidance and assistance of Dr. Denver Tolliver, Director, Mountain-Plains Consortium, Director, Transportation & Logistics Programs, Assistant Director, Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute North Dakota State University and Ms. Jody Bohn, Assistant to the Director for Mountain-Plains Consortium and Transportation and Logistic Programs, Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute North Dakota State University.
