Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy

Vascular Surgery at UAB emphasizes the leading edge of treatment of vascular conditions which includes new minimal surgical approaches to treatment of aneurysms, blood clotting and blocked arteries. For patients with suitable anatomy, this includes placements of stents as well as medical management (vascular medicine).

Vascular Medicine

Giving your care a broader scope to evaluate and treat your circulatory problems by integrating that with your medical problems to arrive at an appropriate diagnosis and treatment - whether with procedures, medicines or reassurance and explanation. This also includes evaluation of patients for surgery and follow up after surgery for Peripheral vascular disease, leg pain, hyperlipidemia, kidney vascular issues, diabetic vascular issues, aortic and extremity aneurysms, cerebrovascular disease, bowel blood flow conditions, venous insufficiency, blood clotting problems and a variety of other more unusual conditions.

Vascular Surgery Fellowships

Two year Vascular Surgery Fellowships are available after General Surgery training. Please call our office or email jet@uab.edu.

The Society for Vascular Surgery has detail information about Vascular Surgery training and a Video series.
