UAB Commission on the Status of Women will host a free lecture, “Women in the Workforce Today – What’s Changed and What Hasn’t,” Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, 3:30-5 p.m. in the Hill University Center Auditorium. The speaker is Lynn Povich, award winning journalist and author of The Good Girls Revolt: How the Women of Newsweek Sued Their Bosses and Changed the Workplace. The UAB Commission on the Status of Women brings female faculty, staff and students together in a forum to advocate and examine the progress of the university's commitment to securing equitable opportunities and rewards for its employees. The commission holds monthly meetings and advises the president on issues, policies and practices that affect women at UAB. For more information about the commission and its initiatives, visit the commission's website at www.uab.edu/women.
