When applying for admission to UAB for Spring, Summer, or Fall 2021, you will have the option to choose if you wish to have your test scores considered for admission.

If I have already applied and a decision has been made, what else do I need to do?

If you have already been admitted or denied based on the availability of a test score, your admission decision will not change. However, if you have been admitted and applied prior to October 6, 2020*, you have the option to update your testing preference to test optional.

Students denied admission may submit an appeal.

Will I still be automatically considered for scholarships once I am admitted?

Yes.

How will I be evaluated for scholarships?

Scholarship awards will be based on high school GPA and strength of high school curriculum.

What if I sent UAB my test scores before I applied? Will they be used for admission?

If you choose test optional on the application for admission, your test scores will not be reviewed for admission.

Will my dual enrollment credit also be considered for admission?

Although not required at the time of application, you are strongly encouraged to submit an official transcript from the college you attended as a dual enrollment student.

Are test scores required for certain majors or programs?

Yes. However, there are a variety of alternatives provided to students who wish to pursue certain majors or programs. You are encouraged to visit the departmental or program’s website or contact your admissions counselor for details.
