The Benevolent Fund regrets that our local nonprofit grant program will not be offered during FY21. Please know that the UAB Benevolent Fund values the significant work of nonprofits in our community and deeply regrets having to take this step. This is a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike foundations and trusts, the UAB Benevolent Fund is funded solely by gifts from our employees each year and does not have assets to utilize in funding the important work of our local nonprofits. COVID-19 has negatively impacted the Benevolent Fund in several ways including the following:

-preempting our traditional spring campaign which we will welcome back in a virtual format in spring 2021

-like many in our community, our employees and their families experienced financial challenges and had to reduce their personal contributions

We hope to announce timelines for the FY22 grants in November 2021. Please check back for updated information. To be added to a list of nonprofits that receives announcements from the Benevolent Fund including any regarding FY22 grants, please send your name, title, email, phone number, and nonprofit name, address and website to
