Industrial Distribution major

The Charles and Patsy Collat Industrial Distribution (ID) Program is a rare degree program that puts you at the center of one of the fastest growing fields in business.  Distribution professionals manage the flow of materials from manufacturers to distributors to customers- which means they play a key role in propelling the economy forward by supplying the building blocks for the products America creates and the world buys. Industrial distributors supply government, industry, and manufacturers, with products necessary for business and health care operations. Students select one of the following two tracks:

Industrial Distribution track

One of only a handful in the United States that specifically prepares graduates for careers with manufacturers or distributors in technical industries for sales engineering, logistics, marketing, inventory and purchasing positions as well as branch management.

Medical Equipment and Supplies Distribution track

A highly unique program which prepares students for a variety of careers in medical device sales, marketing, distribution of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, inventory and purchasing positions and training or product development. The curriculum blends life sciences, pre-medicine and health administration coursework with Collat's unique marketing and industrial distribution curriculum.  Learn more about UAB's Medical Equipment and Supplies Distribution program at the UAB Collat School of Business.
