Callidus Software Inc. , the leading provider of sales and marketing effectiveness software, has partnered with UAB Collat School of Business to meet the growing demands for Information Systems (IS) /Information Technology (IT) professionals. As a result, four spring graduates of Collat’s Information Systems program have been offered and accepted positions with this exciting global enterprise.
“CallidusCloud wants to work with the best of breed sources to produce a collaboration that is strategic and long-term,” says Dean Hodge, VP Insurance Products. “With UAB we have realized this combination to provide the talent required for our industry. We at CallidusCloud are committed to investing in this city and state, leveraging a common vision to provide careers to students, talent to our industry, and professionals for our city.
“CallidusCloud provides a great example of how such a partnership can flourish,” says Rita Stewart Hampton, Collat’s Associate Director of Employment Development. “They have been committed to the partnership from day one.”
After the initial meeting in June 2013, CallidusCloud started posting jobs such as associate technical consultant, technical support engineer, and associate compensation consultant on Dragon Trail, UAB’s online job site. At the same time, CallidusCloud was looking for a more collaborative work space to accommodate a growing number of IS/IT professionals. Once CallidusCloud secured their new location on South Lake Parkway, Collat’s Career and Professional Development Services started branding the CallidusCloud Company on the UAB campus, particularly with the business students.
CallidusCloud invited students and customers to the new office space to hear an overview of the company and its culture. This was a huge success. Several students of Collat’s Information Systems program attended the event. After the open house, CallidusCloud attended their first bowling networking event hosted by the Collat School of Business Career & Development Services. The next day CallidusCloud participated in the Business, Engineering, and Technology Career Fair where they were able to continue to interact with students. CallidusCloud also participated in UAB’s March Madness career events by helping to review resumes. Participation in all of these events has helped to strengthen the partnership and build the CallidusCloud brand on campus
“Rita and her team are a pleasure to work with,” says Martha Underwood, Director of Solution Operations with CallidusCloud. “They work closely with students and have developed relationships with each of them. They understood the strengths and talents of the students and matched them with what CallidusCloud was looking for. This worked extremely well for us because it helped CallidusCloud select from a pool of students that had the attributes and skills we were searching for.”
Rita credits Collat’s IS program manager, Andrea Pound, for making sure students attended the recruiting events and were prepared to make a great impression for potential employers.
2014 spring graduates, Jory Eaton, Carson Key, Jermaine Ridgeway, and Reginal Taunton begin their new positions with CallidusCloud in May 2014.
