UAB MBA student Daniel Sanabria was recently selected to serve as an Innovation Award Ambassador for Alabama Launchpad's 2015 Innovation Conference.
Daniel, who graduated from the UAB Collat School of Business in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in economics, is CEO of Sigma93 Capital Management, one of the half-dozen student-let companies in UAB's Innovation Lab (iLab) inside Innovation Depot. He was selected based on his involvement with companies in Innovation Depot, his engagement with the ILab and his support of Collat programs, said iLab director Kathleen Hamrick.
"He well represents the caliber of talent coming from the Collat entrepreneurship programs," said Hamrick.
Daniel was one of five college students in the Birmingham area selected to participate. As an Innovation Award Ambassador, Daniel helped direct the 2015 Innovation Conference, which took place in Birmingham on September 2, 2015.
Daniel also serves as portfolio manager for the Alternatives sector of the Collat School of Business’ award-winning, student-managed Green and Gold Fund. He led a team from UAB that took home second place in a futures trading competition last spring, besting more than 500 teams worldwide and from the Ivy League. His company, Sigma93 Capital Management, has secured over $500k of notional asset commitments.
