The Central Alabama Information Systems Security Association recently honored a Collat information systems student for his outstanding work in cybersecurity.
John Paul Archer, an information systems student from Moody, received CAISSA's Emerging Talent Award, which includes a scholarship and one-year member in CAISSA. John Paul received the honor at a special ceremony and dinner at Village Tavern.
John Paul, who is specializing in cybersecurity management, has an exceptional understanding of information assurance and security planning, said associate professor Paul Di Gangi, who leads Collat’s information systems program. His in-class observations often act as a catalyst for his class to broaden its understanding of course material.
John Paul is an active member of UAB’s Association for Information Systems student chapter, the International Business Association and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
