Professor Lary Cowart and ten School of Business students had the opportunity in March to attend the R.I.S.E IX Global Student Investment Forum, an event that brings together the best minds and brightest stars in the investment world to offer clues about the world's rapidly changing economic landscape. Co-sponsored by the University of Dayton and the United Nations Global Compact, this is the largest conference of its kind with more than 2,500 students from more than 260 universities from 61 countries participating. It's modeled after the World Economic Forum in Switzerland and gives students a chance to ask questions of some of the top professionals in the world.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Roger G. Ibbotson, Chairman & CIO of Zebra Capital Management and Yale Professor of Finance. Session speakers included a Who's WHo in the investment world (Steve Liesman, Senior Economics Reported, CNBC; Dr. Robert D. McTeer, Jr., former President of the Dallas Fed, and former Chancellor of Texas A&M, John P Surma, Chairman and CEO of United States Steel Corp. (USX), etc.
