A new initiative, Interprofessional Global Health Service Learning, is underway that crosses UAB’s disciplines to offer students the opportunity to learn more about key concepts of social responsibility in global health, interprofessional collaboration, and interdisciplinary team work.
Students who participate will form teams and partner with a local non-profit to provide service hours in analyzing a problem identified by the community partner and implementing a plan to address the problem.
Join us for a “Social Hour” meeting on October 31st to learn more about the new courses that will be offered beginning in the Spring 2013 term. Courtney Pierce, Vanderbilt student, will be Skyped in to share her experiences with Vanderbilt's Project Pyramid, a similar program to IGHSL
