Tull was recognized as Outstanding Professional Advisor by the UAB National Alumni Society and the Committee on Academic Advising, which select recipients “who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students or outstanding academic advising administration.”
She assists finance and accounting students with preparing their class schedules, monitoring their academic progress and offering guidance throughout their time at UAB. She works with students whose last names start with L-Z.
Having joined the Collat School of Business in 2010, Tull initially advised marketing and economics majors. Prior to that, she worked as an employer relations specialist at UAB. Tull earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UAB and her master’s degree in higher education from Walden University. She remains active with UAB’s chapter of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Arline Savage, Ph.D., chair of the Accounting and Finance Department, nominated Tull for the award.
The UAB National Alumni Society honored Tull at a lunch April 19 at the National Alumni House, along with Outstanding New Advisor recipient Rachel Daniel from the School of Education.
