1. I have a non-business undergraduate degree. Does this preclude me from admission to your program?
No,  we encourage students with a variety of academic backgrounds to apply for admission. In fact, over 50% of our students hold an undergraduate degree in something other than business.
2. What if I am unhappy with my GMAT score?
We recommend retaking the GMAT if you are not pleased with your score. We require a minimum of 480 on the GMAT.

3. How much work experience do you require students to have for admission to your MBA program?
Preference is given to those applicants who have two or more years of professional, post-baccalaureate work experience.

5. I am an international student, but earned my degree at an U.S. institution. Do I need to take the TOEFL exam?
No. Applicants who have graduated from an U.S. accredited college or university do not have to submit a TOEFL score.
6. What is the minimum acceptable score on the TOEFL exam?
We require a minimum score on the TOEFL of 550 (written), 213 (computer-based)  or 80 (internet). Admission decisions for international students are based on the GMAT, TOEFL and undergraduate record.

7.  Do you accept the IELTS for international students in place of the TOEFL?
Yes. A minimum score of 6 is required. Students wishing to submit and IELTS score in lieu of the TOEFL should contact the Graduate School of Management at (205) 934-8817.
8. What prerequisites does the UAB MBA program have?
We require that you possess a bachelor degree and have taken pre-calculus algebra within the last 5 years. If an applicant has not completed a pre-calculus course within 5 years of admission with at least a C average, the applicant will be required to remove this deficiency through one of the options found here.
9. Do you accept transfer students?
Yes. Any student wishing to transfer to our MBA program from another graduate program must complete the regular admissions application and meet our admissions requirements. We will accept up to 25% of program requirements taken at another AACSB accredited university provided that the courses are equivalent to those which we require. Students may not transfer in courses with a grade below a "B". 

10. Do you offer the UAB MBA online?
Yes, all of our MBA courses are offered online, so students can register to take classes online or in the classroom through our regular MBA program.  Students also have the option of pursuing their degree through our 100% Online MBA Program that provides a guaranteed path of progression with a tuition premium.
