Business ventures for Birmingham companies exist in Israel, exec says

Israel offers a wealth of opportunities for U.S. companies looking to do business overseas, particularly in the life sciences sector that is a crucial part of metro Birmingham's economy, an expert on the countries' business ties said Thursday.
The Middle Eastern nation, a longtime U.S. ally, also is known for spawning innovative operations in security systems and clean technology, said Tom Glaser, president of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce Southeast Region.
Glaser, who spoke at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's business school, said current tensions between Israel and the White House are not hurting existing commerce between the countries. full article
