Elliott (they/them) is a first year student in the Medical/Clinical Psychology doctoral program working in Dr. Caitlin Clevenger’s lab. Their research interests include: understanding and improving experiences of transgender and non-binary people and those who occupy multiple minority identities while seeking healthcare, facilitating culturally competent preventative HIV/AIDS care for these populations, and expanding current models of cultural competency for these populations. Before coming to UAB, Elliott received a B.A. in Health Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and their undergraduate thesis was entitled "Campus Climate and Resources for LGBTQ Students at UMass Lowell." At UAB, Elliott is currently working on research involving suicidality and eating disorders in transgender and non-binary populations.
