Darwin Day 2013
The first Darwin Day was a success! Please check out a video from the event here.
To honor the birthday of legendary evolutionary biologist Charles Darwin, the Department of Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) will host the first Darwin Day Celebration of Science from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Lister Hill Library Edge of Chaos, 1700 University Blvd. The event will celebrate scientific research in evolutionary biology and other disciplines.
The event will feature a talk by James Lacefield, adjunct professor of biology and earth science (retired) at the University of North Alabama and author of “Lost Worlds in Alabama Rocks: A Guide to the State’s Ancient Life and Landscapes,” about how Alabama’s geological record supports the prevailing science-based perspective on Earth history and the evolution of life.
