I am an aspiring marine phycologist, with an interest in understanding the functional role of macroalgae in the marine environment. I am originally from Ireland, where I completed my BSc in Marine Science at the National University of Ireland Galway. My undergraduate thesis project focused on the diversity of algal drift habitats along the west coast of Ireland. This project is where my passion for seaweeds started. Since then, as a plan II MS student, I have participated in a collaborative research project which looked at the genetic diversity of kelp populations in Ireland.
