I was born and raised in the Birmingham area. I graduated from UAB in 2017 with a bachelor’s in Biology. I am currently working towards my master’s degree in Biology, while applying to medical school. I have been in the Biga lab since 2016 and most of my work has been focused on helping PhD student, Ross Reid, with his work in fish metabolism. My current duties include PCR work, fish care, and cell culture. I am most interested in human pathophysiology and enjoy learning about how the fish models can be used in various ways to aid in this type of research. I am also interested in age-related muscle wasting, and my previous work with Ross Reid has taught me a lot in this area.
