The majority of my work experience is in the aquaculture field, managing indoor and outdoor systems for fish and invertebrates; both fresh and saltwater. I have worked in field biology and hospital patient care. My current research focus is animal cognition and behavior in relation to nutritional history and mental health. I am using the zebrafish as a model organism for a variety of behavioral parameters including nociception and cognitive stress. Data from these studies will help further establish which types of human conditions the zebrafish is most appropriate to model as well as exploring the sentient capacity of the organism. I like building things. I am happiest when I am inventing something or improving an existing design.
