Dr. Will Ryan is focused on the evolution of complex life cycles in marine algae and invertebrates. He is originally from California, where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in Biology from California State University, Northridge. He earned his Ph.D from Florida State University (2017) where he studied the evolution of clonality and sexual reproduction using an adorable sea anemone. In Fall 2017, he joined the Krueger-Hadfield Lab as a Post-doc working on several projects related to the evolution of complex life cycles in marine algae and invertebrates. He maintains a not-so-secret second life as a musician, artist and animator. These hobbies have resulted in a collaboration with "real" artists to produce animated science videos about ecology and evolution. You can check out their work at willhryan.com/teaching-resources.
