Outstanding Women in Science Seminar Series
The Department of Chemistry, in collaboration with the UAB Graduate School and Office of Post-Doctoral Education, is proud to sponsor a seminar series featuring Outstanding Women in Science (OWiS). The OWiS Seminar Series seeks to enhance the mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars by providing opportunities outside of the standard advisor-student mentor framework to engage with the research and personal experiences of high-achieving female scientists. Following each seminar, the featured speaker will meet informally with attendees during which time students can learn more about their work as well as their personal paths to success. By starting these conversations, the seminar series organizers hope to inspire women and promote gender equity in STEM. Both seminars and the following networking events are free and open to the public.
