Blazer42 Capture the Flag Competition

Are you a high school student ready to prove your hunting, digital forensics, web application security, cryptography, and binary exploitation skills? Do you know three other students ready to do the same? Then you should enter the 2018 Blazer42 Capture the Flag Scholarship Competition for qualified high school computer science teams sponsored by Palo Alto Networks and UAB’s Capture the Flag Student Organization.

The Competition

Blazer42 will use the Facebook Capture the Flag Competition framework based on the board game Risk. Each country on the map will unveil a challenging problem, with easy, medium, and expert challenges available in five topic areas. Topics will be selected from areas such as:

  • code-breaking and decoding
  • website security
  • database security & SQL injection attacks
  • network traffic analysis
  • social media

Students must bring their own laptop computers and will access a secure network during the competition.
