Dan DeVaughn is a native of Birmingham, Alabama where he teaches at UAB and serves as the Teaching Writer and Reviews Editor at the Alabama Writers' Forum. His poems appear in Southern Humanities Review, The Nashville Review, Fogged Clarity, Birmingham Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Films he has written are Official Selections of the CODÉC Festival of Experimental Film and Video, Avalonia Festival, Brooklyn, The Athens Digital Arts Festival, and Indie Memphis Film Festival. He is the recipient of scholarships from The Sewanee Writers' Conference and The Vermont Studio Center, as well as fellowships from The Normal Mailer Writer's Workshop and University of Oregon. A runner and amateur photographer, he lives in Forest Park with his partner and their two dogs, Patty and Nacho.
