Words under a microscope

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures (DFLL) is excited to announce its first-ever t-shirt design contest. The contest is open to all students currently enrolled in a DFLL course. The winning design will appear on the official DFLL t-shirt and the designer will win a $200.00 scholarship. Designs should reflect the theme “Languages: Knowledge that will change your world.” Your design will be used to promote all of the wonderful programs and courses for students at UAB. You can find the contest rules and an entry form on the department website.
Wendy Gunther-Canada, Ph.D. and Erika Hille Rinker, Ph.D. were named as this year’s recipients of the Provost’s Awards for Faculty Excellence. Yogesh Vohra, Ph.D. was named as the recipient of the Sam Brown Bridge Builder Award.
