UAB to Launch New Master of Social Work Program With Focus on Health and Behavioral Health
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Social Work has announced the formation of a Master of Social Work (MSW) program commencing in the fall of 2017.
Dr. Lisa Baker, Associate Professor of Social Work, was recently appointed to the Vestavia Hills Board of Education.
Last fall, Department of Social Work students got the chance to work with the United Way of Central Alabama’s 2-1-1 Information and Referral Line.
Shanquela Williams, junior social work major, will spend the spring semester in Ghana as part of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program.

Community Town Hall on Police, Minority Relations
In light of the events in Ferguson, Missouri, community and police leaders as well as University of Alabama at Birmingham experts will participate in a discussion on police and minority relations in Birmingham.
