AEIVA Welcomes Its First Director
The College of Arts and Sciences welcomes Lisa Tamiris Becker as the first Director of the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA).
Donations of fabric from the Birmingham community are still needed for a giant fabric art installation being created to celebrate the University of Alabama at Birmingham Cultural Corridor.

AEIVA Opens
The UAB College of Arts and Sciences opened its new Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts to the public January 16.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Art and Art Historyand the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts will present artist Leslie Wayne and an exhibition of her works, “Mind the Gap.”
Fabric and installation artist Amanda Browder will enlist the help of the community for two giant fabric installations at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, to celebrate the university’s new cultural corridor.

Jeanette Kohl to Keynote UAB/UA Art History Symposium
The University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Art and Art History will host the Art History Master of Arts Symposium, an annual daylong symposium shared with the University of Alabama, on Friday, March 7, at the UAB Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Arts and Sciences will open its new Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts to the public Thursday, Jan. 16.
