Works for Saxophone by UAB’s William Price to be Performed at Greek Tribute, International Symposium
“Remembrance II” for alto saxophone and piano will be performed in Athens on Dec. 20, while “Sonata: Folie à Deux” will be performed at the International Saxophone Symposium on Jan. 6.

UAB’s Yakov Kasman to Perform Dec. 6 in Alabama Symphony Orchestra’s Concertmaster and Friends Series
Kasman will join ASO members for “Quintessential Quintets” to perform two great piano quintets, one from the 19th century by Robert Schumann and one from the 20th century by Dmitry Shostakovich.

Three Chairs Named ICFAD Fellows
Department of Theatre Chair Kelly Dean Allison, Department of Music Chair Patrick Evans, and Department of Art and Art History Chair Lauren Lake have been chosen as fellows for the International Council of Fine Arts Deans (ICFAD).
Department of Music professor of piano and artist-in-residence Yakov Kasman, DMA, will perform as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine in the rarely performed Nikolay Medtner Piano Concerto No. 3 on Wednesday, May 20, in the National Philharmonia Hall of Kyiv, Ukraine.
A recent electroacoustic work by Associate Professor of Music William Price, DMA, has been selected the The Engine Room 2015: International Sound Art Competition and Exhibition.
The International Trumpet Guild has invited the University of Alabama at Birmingham Trumpet Ensemble to perform at its conference May 26-30.
