ROTC student. Every year the faculty choose one student for its Outstanding Student in Philosophy Award, which carries a cash prize (value varies). To be eligible for this award, you must:

  • be a major in philosophy
  • be a first major in philosophy (if doing a double major)
  • be on track to graduate in your senior year with a BA in philosophy.

The department also annually choose two-to-three students who are considered excellent philosophy majors and give them cash awards of $150-$200 to be used towards purchasing books in philosophy courses. These awards are funded by Professor Gregory Pence.
