Stella White is a recently retired public school teacher. She holds a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her 20 year, 2nd career in a suburban school system began on the heels of a 25 year career as manager in the telecommunications industry. Her final telecommunications assignment included being an instructor and working with Project Managers in the Property Department of Real Estate. Both of her parents were teachers, and her father was also a school administrator, so moving on to teaching was a natural progression. As an educator/team leader in the school, some of her student’s projects focused on the nations’ history, the school’s geographical area, its demographic needs, student culture, and the relationship between art and math. Due to their popularity among students, parents, and administrators, many of her learning projects expanded to schoolwide projects and led to professional development opportunities. She retired June 1, 2016, but remains committed to education and has been serving on the MPA Alumni Board continually since retirement.
