The Political Science Honors program provides outstanding undergraduates with opportunities for advanced study and faculty mentorship. We are looking for students who want to advance in their careers after graduation, whether it be as a lawyer, teacher, community activist, or member of the foreign service. Are you interested? Read on.

Real-World Benefits

As an honors student, you will work closely with a faculty member on an independent research project. Completing the project accelerates your preparation for graduate or professional training. One-on-one interaction with your faculty mentor leads to a deeper understanding of the field and practice of political science.

It is hard work, but the benefits are worth it. The experience and advice you receive will pay off as you choose your career goals, such as graduate school, law school, public or foreign service, or other opportunities. Students who complete the program will receive a certificate at the annual UAB Honors Convocation and will graduate "With Honors in Political Science."

A complete description of program requirements can be found here and in the UAB Course Catalog.
