Several of the faculty members in the Behavioral Neuroscience Program are recognized as experts in their areas of research.
The program draws on the strengths of a well-established Department of Psychology. The National Science Foundation (NSF) ranks UAB's Department of Psychology in the top 100 of universities nationally in Federal R&D Expenditures. Grant awards in the Behavioral Neuroscience are from agencies such as the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation. This provides students a fertile environment for developing their research careers.
UAB has rich resources in behavioral neuroscience. Students often spend substantial time at interdisciplinary centers and in other departments/schools, including:
- Civitan International Research Center
- Department of Anesthesiology
