Angela McClintock is a native of Columbia, Mississippi. She moved to Alabama in 1978. She received her BS degree at the University of South Alabama, in Mobile. Her social work career began at the Department of Human Services in Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1987, primarily investigating child sexual abuse. She returned to Mobile, Alabama in 1991 to work for the Department of Human Resources as an investigator of child abuse. In 2002, she obtained her MSW at the University of Alabama. She currently holds a license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. In 2003, she was appointed as the county director at Cullman County DHR. In 2005, she became the Assistant Director in Jefferson County over child welfare. In 2012, she was appointed as the County Director in Jefferson County.

She is the secretary of the Executive Committee of the Alabama Association of County Directors. She is active in the Children’s Policy Council, chairing a committee in the Child Sex Trafficking Project, serves on the Administrative Office of the Courts (Court Improvement Project), Family Drug Court Oversight Committee and as an ex-officio member of the Family Service Center project. Angela has one daughter who graduated in 2017 from the University of Alabama.
