Dr. Demir Dagdas (PhD 2017) is currently a postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of Public Health Sciences, UC Davis School of Medicine.

Her doctoral work focused on the long-term effects of parental divorce on parent-child relationships, mental health, and alcohol use. She examined the effects of early childhood disadvantage on later life by using nationally representative study.

Dr. Demir Dagdas works closely with researchers from social networks area to understand how social network characteristics influence the health and well-being of individuals from diverse backgrounds over the life course. Her research interests lie in families, social relationships, and cultural diversity and how they affect mental health.
