Tim Hale. Timothy M. Hale (PhD 2011) is a Teaching Assistant Professor at University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne in the College of Applied Health Sciences, Department of Kinesiology and Community Health, teaching in the new Master’s in Health Technology program.

Philip Alan Gibson. Philip Alan Gibson (PhD 2015) is a Healthcare Analyst in the Health Management Department at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. In addition to a PhD in Medical Sociology, Dr. Gibson holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Jeffrey Hall. Dr. Hall (PhD, MSPH, 2003) is a lead behavioral scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Surveillance Branch of the Division of Violence Prevention of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.


Dr. Hansen (PhD 2017) is Scientist 1 at the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center in the Division of Preventive Medicine at UAB. 

Lonnie Hannon. Lonnie Hannon (PhD 2007) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology/Sociology at Tuskegee University. As a part of his personal mission, he is focused on helping his students achieve their most positive selves via collective empowerment and self-determination.

Rosa F. C. Ho. Rosa F. C. Ho (PhD 2003) is an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Sociology and Social Work at Chung Medical University, located in Taichung, Taiwan. She teaches Social Gerontology, General Sociology, Medical Sociology, and Community Organization and Development.
Brian P. Hinote.

Brian P. Hinote (PhD 2007) holds the faculty rank of Professor, and serves as Associate Vice Provost for Data Analytics and Student Success in the Office of Student Success at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). There he leads a wide range of key strategic initiatives in areas as diverse as advising, supplemental instruction, educational technology, data analytics, and predictive modeling.

Jay A IrwinJay A. Irwin (PhD 2009) is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also holds appointments in Women's and Gender Studies at UNO, serves as the advisor for UNO's LGBTQ/Sexuality Studies Minor, and is an Associate Professor at University of Nebraska Medical Center's School of Public Health.

Akilah Dulin Keita. Akilah Dulin Keita (PhD 2007) is an Assistant Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University

Haley Kendrick.

Haley Medved Kendrick (PhD 2018) is the Director of Workforce Development for the Innovate Birmingham Workforce Program within University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) External Affairs. Previously, Haley led the Innovate Birmingham operations as Director of Operations.

Christine Lindquist. Christine Lindquist (PhD 1997) is currently a Research Sociologist at Research Triangle Institute (RTI), working at RTI's campus in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Jill Locher. Julie Locher (PhD 1999) is a professor in the Departments of Medicine and Health Care Organization and Policy at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Associate Director for Enrichment of the Nutrition Obesity Research Center.

soumyaSoumya J Niranjan (PhD 2018) is an Assistant Professor in the UAB Department of Health Services Administration. She is a Pharmacist by training and also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Investigation Sciences from University of Louisville.
