What better way to enable dynamic conversation than playing golf and planning for the future? The annual CCTS External Advisory Committee (EAC) meeting, which took place on Monday, December 10, 2018, teed off the night before at Top Golf, where EAC members and CCTS faculty and staff enjoyed an informal evening before getting down to business at the Hub (slideshow below).
Presentations featured a select review of accomplishments to set the context for a discussion of strategies and tactics aimed at moving CCTS “to the next level.” Speakers unveiled several new initiatives in informatics, research collaboration, training, and community engagement that are underway in anticipation of the renewal of the Center’s grant in Spring 2019. EAC members provided welcome suggestions, including on how to best leverage the regional and local platforms CCTS has built over the past decade.
CCTS thanks our five EAC members, listed below, as well as UAB School of Medicine Dean Selwyn Vickers and Vice Dean Anupam Agarwal, UAB Vice President for Research Chris Brown, UAB Medicine Chief Executive Keith “Tony” Jones, CCTS Partner Network site leads, CCTS staff and team leads, and our NCATS program officer for their support in making the meeting a success.
