The CCTS has updated its voucher program to clarify eligibility guidelines and streamline the application process. A new page has been added to the CCTS website to assist investigators with understanding the types of research support covered by the program, as well as provide a link to the updated application form.

Applicants may apply for up to $5,000 (direct) to offset expense(s) for clinical and translational research services including clinical research units, sample handling and biospecimen storage, necessary laboratory tests, study design and methodology, database handling, informatics and other CCTS-related resources available at a Partner Institution. Applications must outline the experimental needs and what will be enabled by the investment and provide a budget with justification. Indirect cost budgeting is not required.

Projects that align with the CCTS mission (i.e., accelerate scientific discovery by addressing disparities and diseases disproportionately represented within the Deep South) are highly preferred. Examples of allowable expenses include inpatient/outpatient care costs, core fees, extended consultation activities, and other CCTS-related expenses. Disallowed expenses include investigator salary/fringe, travel expenses, new equipment, and general lab supplies or reagents.

So if you are an investigator in need of funding for a few healthy controls, a biostats consult, blood specimens, a RedCap database, or similar research support, check out our revamped Voucher Program
