Leading edge equipment, staff guidance and training are available for the community of investigators exploring the role of metabolomics and lipidomics in cellular processes. Best practices are available to support specimen acquisition and processing, mass spectrometry and proteomics in the identification of targets that are involved in metabolic pathways, signal transduction pathways and protein complexes.

This CCTS unit assists with planning and designing the nutritional components of research protocols and can assist with implementing the protocol, recruitment/screening of research participants, and data collection and analysis of dietary intake. Its metabolic kitchen provides specially designed meals for participants on both inpatient and outpatient studies to meet protocol requirements.  Learn more >

This laboratory is organized to provide a variety of analytical and technical services using mass spectrometry. It has four mass spectrometers, two triple quadrupole instruments (AB Sciex 3200 and 4000), a quadrupole-linear ion trap instrument (AB Sciex 4000Qtrap), and a quadrupole-TOF (AB Sciex 5600 TripleTOF). The AB Sciex 5600 TripleTOF is particularly powerful for comprehensive and targeted proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics. The recent addition of an Eksigent microflow 200 LC provides significant improvement in sensitivity for the triple quadrupole instruments.  Learn more>
