Amy Brady, MAEd, CNMT 

amy bradyAmy Brady is an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Professions, Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (Nuclear Medicine). She is the director of the Nuclear Medicne Imaging program at UAB. 

Her goal is to better prepare students for real-world clinical situations.

William Brooks, PhD

Rachel BruceDr. Brooks is Assistant Dean for Preclinical Education and a Professor in the Heersink School of Medicine, Department of Cell, Developmental & Integrative Biology. 

He is the founder of the MD-DPT interprofessional patient communication activity and the "Come Roll With Me" event where community members with mobility issues work with Medicine and Physical Therapy students to highlight health equity issues.

Kala Dixon, PhD, MS

Kala DixonDr. Dixon is The Director of Interprofessional and Continuing Education in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in the Heersink School of Medicine. She obtained her Doctorate of Interprofessional Healthcare Studies from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

As an interprofessional educator, she has been involved in curriculum design and delivery to ensure students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to work in teams that improve patient outcomes.



Cori O'Neal, DNP, CRNP, AGNP-BC

Cori JohnsonDr. Johnson is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, Department of Acute Chronic and Continuing Care. She is the Specialty Track Coordinator for the Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program and practices in the UAB PATH clinic, specializing in treating patients with uncontrolled diabetes.

Within the PATH clinic, she has trained interprofessional teams to clarify their roles and responsibilities and improve team communications. Dr. Johnson is bringing this experience to the classroom to prepare the Gerontology Nurse Practitioners for their future clinical roles.

April Love, MSN, RN, RNC-OB, CNE

April LoveMs. Love is an Instructor in the School of Nursing and a member of the UAB Healthcare Educators Academy. She works with faculty from Social Work and Physical Therapy to provide Interprofessional experiences and simulations for pre-professional students and has completed the Simulation as a Teaching Tool Instructor Course offered by the Center for Medical Simulation in partnership with SimUABĀ®.
