Dr. Anna Hoppmann

T32 CPCTP Post-doctoral Fellow (01/01/2020)

Dr. Hoppmann joined the Cancer Prevention and Control Training Program on January 1, 2020. She is a pediatric physician, currently receiving subspecialty training as a second year fellow in pediatric hematology and oncology. Her prior work focuses on measuring and improving adherence to oral chemotherapy for children with leukemia, and under this grant, her original research abstract on adherence was accepted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology conference and awarded a 2020 Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award. 

Her goal moving forward is to develop expertise in pediatric cancer outcome disparities in the state of Alabama using data from the Alabama Statewide Cancer Registry (ASCR). She has been productive in this regard, establishing a partnership with ASCR and obtaining her preliminary data. The support of this grant will allow her to pursue additional training in geospatial analysis through the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
