UAB School of Dentistry to host white coat ceremony August 11
The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry is holding its 23rd White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2023, in the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center’s Jemison Theater.
As they begin their clinical years, members of the third-year class, also referred to as D3s, will receive white coats that are symbolic of their entry into the dental profession. The ceremony will also feature remarks from the School of Dentistry Alumni Association, as well as the recitation of The Dentist’s Pledge honor code.
“The White Coat Ceremony is a chance for our faculty and alumni to welcome our students into the profession of dentistry,” said Russell S. Taichman, DMD, DMSc, dean. “It also marks the students’ dedication to the field of dentistry and their pledge of allegiance to providing the highest standard of care to patients in their careers. It reminds all of us about our commitments as dentists.”
Date and Time: Friday, August 11, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. Doors open to guests at 3:15 p.m. Students must report by 2:00 p.m. for a class picture and to be lined up.
Location: Alys Robinson Stephens Center, 1200 10th Ave. South.
