In the fall of 2013, the department occupied a new clinic on the fifth floor of the dental school building. It features 8 fully equipped resident treatment rooms as well as six dental student operatories. All rooms have their own digital radiography equipment in addition to modern computer access to the school’s system of electronic patient records. There are also stations for bench-top exercises with adjacent digital radiography. The clinic houses its own cone beam CT machine featuring small slice imaging and small field to minimize radiation, allowing clinicians to view three dimensional images of potentially challenging diagnostic and treatment conditions.
The department has two full-time dental assistants and an administrative assistant. There are three full-time faculty and one part-time specialist. Additional adjunct faculty provides clinical and didactic teaching support.
