Welcome to the UAB Department of Endodontics. Our department wholeheartedly supports the mission statement of the AAE:

The American Association of Endodontists is dedicated to excellence in the art and science of endodontics and to the highest standard of patient care.

Endodontics focuses on diagnosis, prevention, and the treatment of pathology of the pulpal tissues. Our team of professionally trained endodontists, residents and students work in a technologically advanced clinic which uses digital radiography and surgical operating microscopes. Our clinic utilizes a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) which provides a 3-D image of the tooth and the surrounding periapical tissue. Our clinical services include nonsurgical root canal therapy, nonsurgical retreatment, surgical root canal therapy and vital pulp therapy.

Our goal is aimed at saving and preserving one of our patient’s most prized assets – our natural teeth. This goal is accomplished through the dedicated pre-doctoral training of our dental students and the advanced postgraduate education of our residents.
