A significant component of the D.M.D. curriculum is administered through the Department of Restorative Sciences.

Division of General Dentistry

Division of General Dentistry emphasizes the department’s activities that are focused on ensuring that our D.M.D. students graduate as competent providers of general dentistry clinical care. The Division’s main clinical activity occurs in the Comprehensive Care Clinic on the second floor of the School of Dentistry building. Additional activity occurs in the Division’s Limited Care and Treatment Planning Clinic on the first floor. The Division also houses the first year Preclinical Dentistry and Operative Dentistry components of the D.M.D. curriculum.

Division of Prosthodontics

Division of Prosthodontics emphasizes the didactic and clinical educational activity in fixed, removable, occlusion and implant prosthodontics within the D.M.D. curriculum as well as a postgraduate Surgical Implantology course. Clinical care in prosthodontics is provided on the second floor, and the division is supported by a full-service dental laboratory and administrative staff. Most of the second-year Preclinical activities are part of this division.
